Website
Texas's first dental school needed a website that served everyone who depends on it. WWC designed, developed, and implemented a new user experience for the UT Health School of Dentistry, the oldest component of UTHealth Houston and a founding institution of the Texas Medical Center, educating oral health professionals since 1905. The school's site serves prospective and current students, faculty, and the patients of its teaching clinics, yet the existing experience carried recurring usability issues. WWC brought the school's stakeholders into the process, from administration to students, then rebuilt the site on dotCMS with clear web design and SEO suited to an academic health institution. For a school that has graduated more than 13,000 dentists and dental hygienists, the new experience makes finding a program, a clinic, or an answer simple.
A broad audience, a single front door. Few websites carry as many jobs as a dental school's. Applicants compare programs, students and faculty rely on it daily, and clinic patients look for care information, all in one place. The existing user experience showed common, recurring issues across those audiences. The school engaged WWC to find out exactly where the experience was falling short and to deliver a new one that serves every group with clarity.
WWC began with the people the site exists for. Sessions with administration, professors, and students surfaced the key areas for improvement and the issues users hit most often, and those findings drove every design decision. From that research, WWC built the new user experience on dotCMS, a platform that lets the school's teams manage content across departments while giving visitors faster paths to programs, people, and patient care information. SEO work ran alongside the web design, structuring the school's deep academic content so prospective students and patients can find it from the first search.
The strongest validation came from the process itself. Administration, professors, and students helped define the problems and then saw their input shape the finished site, grounding the new user experience in real behavior rather than assumptions. The project is also part of a broader WWC relationship with UTHealth Houston, sitting alongside work for the Cizik School of Nursing and the UT School of Public Health. More importantly, it gave the first dental school in Texas a website that works the way its students, faculty, and patients do.
