More than 600 free events a year demand a website built for constant motion. Discovery Green is a 12-acre urban park in Downtown Houston, Texas, operated by the nonprofit Discovery Green Conservancy and drawing more than 1 million visitors annually to its concerts, festivals, and community programs. The park asked WWC, a Houston marketing and technology agency, to design and develop a website that could present that dense calendar in an organized, user-friendly way while integrating iVvy, the venue management software behind its private event rentals. WWC delivered a WordPress site with clear event discovery, a stronger SEO foundation, and an editing workflow that lets the Discovery Green team add events, post notices, and make updates quickly. The result is a website that keeps pace with the park.

Programming this dense can bury a website. Discovery Green runs one of the busiest public calendars in Houston, hosting more than 600 free concerts, festivals, and community events every year on 12 acres in the heart of downtown, alongside a venue rental operation managed through iVvy. The park needed a website that could present all of that activity in an organized, user-friendly way, connect to its venue management software, and let its own team make updates, add events, and post notices quickly. Discovery Green asked WWC to design and develop that website.

WWC designed and developed a WordPress website that turns a crowded calendar into a clear visitor experience. User experience work organized the park's activities, concerts, and festivals so visitors can quickly find what is happening and when. An iVvy integration connects the site to Discovery Green's venue management software, supporting the park's private event and rental operation. Elementor gives the Discovery Green team a visual editing workflow to add events, update pages, and post notices quickly, and Mailchimp keeps audiences connected to upcoming programming. SEO work helps Houston audiences find the park's events through search.

Overall traffic increased on the strength of improved SEO, and a pre- to post-launch survey confirmed that visitors now find the information they are looking for in fewer steps. Staff add events, post notices, and make updates quickly, keeping a calendar of more than 600 free events current, and the iVvy integration ties venue rentals into the same experience. The relationship with Discovery Green continues today. More importantly, it lets a 12-acre park with big-city programming communicate at the pace it operates.
