Mobile App
Home repairs rarely wait for an appointment. LOWO, short for Local Work, is a mobile app that delivers real-time, on-demand professional help for home repairs and maintenance, connecting homeowners and property managers with Service Pros in their immediate area, or wherever the service is needed, who are ready, willing, and able to do the job. WWC handled app development, user experience design, and branding for the startup, building the marketplace in Flutter and on MongoDB to power live matching between jobs and available pros. The product behaves like the moment it serves. Open a request, see who is nearby, get the work done. For LOWO, WWC turned an on-demand idea into a shipped product, piloted in 4 markets across California and Texas.
A burst pipe does not schedule itself. LOWO set out to bring the on-demand model to home repairs and maintenance, a market where homeowners still rely on phone calls, referrals, and days of waiting. The startup had a sharp premise but no product to prove it. LOWO asked WWC to design and build the mobile app itself, a marketplace that could surface nearby Service Pros ready to take the job, and to create the brand, collateral, and presentation materials a startup needs to sell the idea to users and investors alike.
WWC designed and developed the LOWO app from user experience through engineering. The experience centers on speed. A homeowner opens the app, sees which Service Pros are available in real time, and connects with someone ready to do the work. WWC built the app in Flutter, giving LOWO a single codebase that ships across mobile platforms without doubling engineering effort, and used MongoDB to handle the live, location-based data that on-demand matching depends on. Every screen assumes a user mid-problem, fast to read, simple to act on. WWC also developed the LOWO brand identity, collateral, and presentation materials, giving the startup a consistent story from app store to pitch deck.
WWC helped LOWO take the concept from idea to pilot in 4 markets. The app launched on both the App Store and Google Play, rolling out first in Los Angeles and San Diego, then Austin and Houston, and onboarded roughly 7,000 Service Pros along the way. For a startup still raising its next round, that is the difference between a pitch and a proof. More importantly, it gave LOWO a working marketplace to put in front of users and investors, not a promise of one.
