Branding

VaryActive

Variety keeps people working out, and VaryActive built a business on it. The booking platform connected users to a network of fitness facilities where they could search, sort, and book a seat in a class with just a few clicks. Yoga, Pilates, spin, barre, CrossFit, dance, all pay per use, with no membership tying anyone to a single gym. The concept began at Texas A&M's Mays Business School, where founder Brett G. first presented it in competition, and it answered a real market gap, gyms and studios that disliked partnering with subscription platforms. WWC took VaryActive from concept to market, designing the identity and brand, developing the app in Flutter with Mindbody integration, and building the marketing website that introduced it. Piloted in Houston with more than 300 participating locations, the work gave a startup founder a complete, credible product and gave users the freedom to work out on their own terms.

Most fitness memberships lock people into one gym and one routine, and the subscription models built to fix that created a new problem, many gyms and fitness facilities simply did not like partnering with them. VaryActive's founder, Brett G., an engineer by training, first presented his answer in competition at Texas A&M's Mays Business School, a pay-per-use platform where variety is the product and facilities get a partner they can welcome. VaryActive came to WWC as a concept that needed everything at once, an identity, a mobile app, and a website to sell it. The ask was to take the idea to market as one coherent brand.

WWC built VaryActive in the right order. The brand came first, an identity designed to feel as flexible and energetic as the workouts it books, then carried through every screen and page that followed. WWC developed the mobile app in Flutter, integrating with Mindbody so class inventory came straight from participating facilities, and giving users a fast way to find classes by time, location, and type and pay per use, with no subscription attached. From yoga and Pilates to CrossFit and dance, the interface made trying something new feel simple instead of overwhelming. A marketing website completed the system, introducing the platform to new users. One team designed and shipped it all, so nothing was lost between brand and build.

VaryActive made it to market. The platform piloted in Houston with more than 300 participating fitness locations, a real network behind the promise of variety, and Mays Business School News featured its founders in 2016 among the school's Professional MBA graduates launching startups. The venture later wound down for lack of funding, but the brand, app, and website WWC delivered carried VaryActive from competition concept to live pilot. More importantly, it proved a startup can arrive with the polish of an established brand when one team ships it all.
