As the clinical practice of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, UT Physicians connects patients with more than 2,000 clinicians certified in more than 80 medical specialties and subspecialties, delivering multi-specialty care for the entire family across the Greater Houston area. WWC designed and developed the UT Physicians website and user experience, building the healthcare platform on WordPress with a comprehensive integration with Epic, the scheduling and medical records platform. To route users to information more quickly, WWC implemented Elastic search backed by machine learning, so a search for a symptom, specialty, or physician goes straight to the right page. The finished site gives one of the nation's largest multi-specialty practices a digital front door built to match its scale.

That breadth is a strength in care and a burden online, where a patient needs one doctor, one clinic, one appointment. UT Physicians asked WWC to design and develop a website and user experience that would make that scale navigable, connecting patients to the right provider and the right information without friction.
WWC designed and developed the UT Physicians website on WordPress, shaping the user experience around how patients actually look for care. A comprehensive Epic integration connects the site to the scheduling and medical records platform, so finding a physician and scheduling care sit in one continuous path instead of separate systems. Elastic search backed by machine learning routes visitors to the right doctor, specialty, or clinic more quickly, cutting a direct path through a deep catalog of providers and medical content. SEO built into the architecture helps patients searching for care across Greater Houston land on the right page the first time.
The platform is live at utphysicians.com, serving one of the nation's largest multi-specialty practices. Patients search one directory to find the right provider, browse specialties, and locate clinics across Greater Houston, then move into Epic for scheduling and medical records. More importantly, the site turns the scale of an academic health system into something a single patient can navigate.
