User Experience

Interior design decisions are easier to make when clients can see them in the room. CairnSmith is an augmented reality and 3D visualization platform for professional interior designers and real estate firms, developed for Sheer Industries Group with WWC handling app development, user experience design, and AR capability, working alongside partner agency Bouncing Pixel. The product runs in 2 parts. CairnSmith Mainframe, the desktop suite, lets designers draft, model, and adjust concepts in a real-time rendering engine, while CairnSmith Satellite syncs those concepts to a tablet, turning the device into a magic window for exploring photorealistic designs in empty rooms. Built with React and React Native and animated with Rive, the app also generates USDZ files clients can open in augmented reality, viewing choices at true scale. For designers, it shortens the distance between a proposal and an approval.

Clients rarely commit to what they cannot picture. Professional interior designers and real estate firms work in textures, finishes, and spatial relationships that flat renderings struggle to communicate, and every misread image costs time and trust. The opportunity was a platform that puts design options directly into the client's view of the space. The brief for WWC was CairnSmith, a system that lets designers compose photorealistic concepts on the desktop, sync them to a tablet, and hand clients a way to experience those choices in augmented reality, through an interface simple enough to use in the middle of a client meeting.

WWC designed and built CairnSmith as a working tool, not a demo. CairnSmith Mainframe gives designers a desktop suite for drafting, modeling, and adjusting concepts in a real-time rendering engine, and CairnSmith Satellite syncs those concepts to iOS and Android devices, turning the screen into a window on the finished space. The interface, built with React and React Native and brought to life with Rive animation, keeps every interaction immediate. The defining feature is the app's USDZ export. Each design becomes a shareable file that clients open in augmented reality on their own devices, viewing furniture, finishes, and layouts at true scale in the actual room, without breaking the flow of a conversation.
