That idea drove WWC's app development partnership with Lufkin Automation, the rod lift control and analysis arm of LUFKIN Industries, the Texas manufacturer that has led artificial lift since pioneering oilfield pumping units in the 1920s. WWC created a custom Pump Jack Simulator, built in React with Rive animation, that gives users an interactive platform to test real-world conditions and scenarios in rod-pumping systems. Users analyze and adjust pump jack operations while the simulator replicates field conditions for learning and troubleshooting, no producing well required. The project reinforces Lufkin's ongoing innovation in automation technology, the same drive that produced the industry's first patented rod pump control systems, and gives users practical tools to enhance production efficiency in the field.

Field conditions are expensive teachers. Lufkin Automation was first to patent technology that accurately controls and analyzes rod-pumping systems, and its Well Manager line still monitors and controls wells across the industry. But understanding how a pump jack responds to changing conditions has traditionally required time on live equipment, where mistakes carry real cost. Lufkin asked WWC to build a digital alternative, an interactive simulator that could replicate field conditions and scenarios so users could learn, experiment, and troubleshoot rod-pumping operations with nothing at stake.
WWC built the Pump Jack Simulator to put a working rod-pumping system on screen. Users run the unit through changing conditions and watch the system respond, testing the scenarios they would meet in the field. That fidelity lets the simulator serve 3 audiences at once. Internal training classes build intuition about rod pumping in a consequence-free environment, customer operators troubleshoot problems before acting on real equipment, and sales teams demonstrate Lufkin's technology with a live, working unit. React powers the interactive simulation, and Rive animation gives the on-screen unit lifelike motion, so the simulator reads like the machine it represents.
Deployed as an internal tool, the Pump Jack Simulator now serves Lufkin Automation across training classes, customer operations, and sales demonstrations, giving each audience a hands-on way to see how rod-pumping systems behave under real conditions. Users work through real scenarios in a faithful replica of the field, building the understanding that drives production efficiency on actual wells. More importantly, it turns a century of pumping expertise into something people can learn by doing.
